Assistant Coach Steve Sarigiannis

"If you prepare correctly, then winning usually takes care of itself." (Head Coach Michael Smith)

Assistant Coach Steve Sarigiannis

Men's & Women's Assistant Track & Field Coach

Eventhough last year's assistant coach, Coach Drew Dershimer is sadly missed, he has been replaced by Steve Saragiannis.

Sarigiannis, a 1999 graduate of North Carolina-Wilmington, competed for the current Robert Morris head coach, Michael Smith, while he was with the Seahawks. He graduated from UNCW with a degree in physical education.

Prior to Robert Morris, Sarigiannis was the graduate assistant men's cross country/track coach at Ball State University in Munice, Indiana. At Ball State, he was responsible for coaching the throws events and in two seasons produced two All-Americans and five Mid-Americans Conference Champions.

A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Sarigiannis earned his master's degree in 2001 in health science from Ball State. He has also served as a volunteer coach at UNCW and with the Cape Fear Flyers Junior Olympic program.

Coach Sarigiannis currently coaches the throwers and distance team at Robert Morris University. He carries a work-hard philosphy that he continues to stick by. Although we all wish we could do everything the easy way, working hard will pay off in the long run. Thanks Coach Sarigiannis for pushing us that extra mile and inch!
